This is a simple increase technique that is often seen in lace knitting, but can be utilized in a lot of different ways to help you add stitches in your projects. A YO (yarn over) creates a space in the fabric, so if you need to add a button, or want to have a design with open spaces, this is perfect for you! It is often used in combination with a decrease stitch (such as a SSK) immediately after, so that 1 stitch is increased with the YO, then 1 stitch decreased with the SSK, so that total stitch count remains the same. Here’s a short video that teaches you this technique! Let me know if you need any other angles or help with this!
