April Showers!

Well, it’s another rainy day here at my studio and it seems spring and April are truly here. I’ve been busy getting a BIG order ready for a wonderful store in Colorado (can you guess?) that is going to become our next stockist!

In other news, our summer workshops are starting to fill up! Did you see the newsletter about that last week? I’m hosting three summer workshops here at the dye studio where we’ll be learning about natural dyes. We’ll explore the primary colors as represented in nature. June’s workshop covers natural reds, July covers yellows and August will explore blues (we won’t be getting into indigo). This day-long workshop will include breakfast, lunch, and your own dye kit to take home with you once the day is over. $150 per student! For all the details, visit our summer workshops page.

Also, we’ll be coming up to Connecticut here in a few weeks for our second trade show, Stitches United! I’m really excited to be coming up and am working hard to dye a lot of beautiful yarn for you all! This time, I’ll be bringing the kids with me, so we’re excited for a blend of work trip/homeschool history road trip. We’ll be debuting the first run of our new and improved Hearth base that comes from Echo View Fiber Mill as well! It’s our same 100% US Merino, but milled especially for us in North Carolina.

What have you been working on lately? Can’t wait to see you all soon!

It's 2017!!

Well, we did it! We got to 2017! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season during December, and that you had the chance to ring in the New Year in style! I had a CRAZY night…(read that as, I was asleep by 8pm and couldn’t have been happier). I feel so inspired and ready to take on 2017, especially with all the growth that I hope will be happening for Nutmeg Fibers this year!

One big announcement that I’m excited to share is the fact that we’ll be having a booth at Stitches West February 23nd thru 26th! This is something that I’ve been hoping to participate in for several years now, and I’m so thrilled that it’s finally happening! We’ll be bringing with us loads of hand-dyed yarn to share with all of you West Coast yarn fans! I can’t wait to meet loads of new people and share my yarn love with you all! I’ll have lots of copies of our Winter 2017 zine with us too!

Like I mentioned before, our big focus for 2017 is going to be growing Nutmeg Fibers! One of the first ways is to be working with some wonderful retail stores! We are so thrilled to be able to announce that our very first stockist is Brooklyn General Store. Their first order will be arriving at their door shortly, so if you’re in the Brooklyn area, make sure to go by and visit them and see our yarn for yourself! Keep an eye out as we add more stockists this year. If you’re interested in becoming one yourself, then visit our wholesale sign-up page here!

Also, at the end of one year and the beginning of the next, I always like to say a huge thank you to those of you that have supported Nutmeg Fibers thus far! I’m so thrilled and blessed to be able to do this for my work. I am so grateful for all of your patience with me as I’ve grown this business bit by bit. I hope to bring you all more Tennessee Wool this year, as well as more patterns and wonderful colors for your projects!

That’s all for now!
