So, if you’ve been following along, you’ll see that while we were in Osaka, the main purpose of my trip was to have a Trunk Show at Eylul Yarn. The event was scheduled for Friday July 13th, and we left it set up throughout that whole weekend as well.
The night of the 13th, there was also a Knitting Night planned. We gathered together with lots of delicious food, provided by Yuri, and laughed, knit, spoke in English and Japanese (well…I didn’t speak Japanese….but at least my translation app did), and had a really wonderful time. It is always so great to be able to come together in that way over a common love of knitting. I didn’t get too many great photos of it, because I was enjoying it too much, haha! But here is one of the first few ladies that showed up!
Here’s another shot of the beautiful and delicious food! From L-R, rice cakes and sushi, spring rolls, sushi, octopus dumpling, fried chicken and fried octopus!
It was a wonderful night, and I had so much fun meeting a lot of the knitters in person who have been supporting and championing my yarn for a while now. Looking back now, after being gone for about a week, I am really grateful for the time we got to spend there, and the new fiber friends I was able to meet. Here are a few other photos of Yuri’s shop, and the beautiful things inside!
I couldn’t stop looking at this beautiful, Japanese cotton that Yuri had in stock. There were several different bases, including a wool blend, 100% cotton, cotton and silk. Finally, before the end of my trip, I grabbed two cones of a dark purple 100% recycled Japanese cotton to make a new cardigan that’s in my queue. I really love this yarn! It’s from Saredo, and you can grab it from Eylul Yarns here.
Open for business! It was such a fun weekend. Alfie was my messenger, running up and down from the apartment upstairs when we needed things. Haha!
So, that’s part 2 of our Osaka trip. More on our Day trip up to Kyoto soon!
