It seems a bit strange to be writing a Nutmeg newsletter while still on our trip to Korea, but I think that one of the benefits of having been gone for 3 weeks is that we’ve not felt the urge to get up and go!go!go! all day every day since we’ve been here. I’ll write a little more about that in a trip related post, so for now I’ll attempt to stay the course and write an update on Nutmeg news!
First off, how are you all?! I hope that I might have some new followers here on the blog now that I’ve been traveling around and meeting people. Who knows, maybe even Kim Woo Bin is reading this right now…doubtful though. Ha! Anyhow, I wanted to remind you all of a few things.
First off, the first in our Summer Natural Dyes Workshop Series is coming up in a week and a half. We still have a few spaces left, so if you’ve been thinking about it, go ahead and register now! For our June 24th workshop, we’ll be focusing on the reds found in the natural dye spectrum. We’ll be working with madder root, quebracho, cochineal and more as we explore the primary color red in the natural world. This is an all day workshop, and the price includes breakfast, lunch and all dye materials (including yarn) that you’ll need throughout the day (including a dye kit to go home with!). I’m really looking forward to spending the day with some awesome folks and playing with our wool and dye vats.
Also, several of you have contacted me about the possibility of payment plans for the Full Summer Series option for our dye workshops. If you’re interested in that, just email and we’ll be glad to sort something out! The full 3-class Series is $300 per student, so if you’re interested in joining us for all 3 classes, but not wanting to pay that chunk all at once, email here to set something up!
I think this is the most important info to remind you all about right now…I’m working hard on some new patterns for the next zine. Can’t wait to show you all! There’s inspiration everywhere here in Seoul, so playing with texture swatches has been on my list while I’ve been traveling.
Hope you’re all doing well, and I’ll talk to you soon.
