Indigo for a Moody Blue Day

I've been in a bit of a funk lately while getting settled back in here in Nashville after our trip. So, in efforts to shake the moody blues away, I decided to just have some fun and play out in the dye studio today. I had a lot of fun working on the Limited Edition summer colorway back at the end of June, so I decided to just have a day of playing with some new color application techniques. I worked on some indigo speckles with a very high tech, wrist flick method (haha). Alfie was in a bit of a funk too, and so he decided to work on some hand-painted techniques with the indigo and lac after his schoolwork was done. Here are a few pictures of us attempting to get our dye on, while simultaneously clearing our brains of cobwebs and Negative Nelsons. Can't wait to share these in the shop! Definitely helped to get my mind into a more positive space. (And I'm trying so hard not to stress about how overgrown all the plants in our backyard are in these pictures....but...does it really matter in the grand scheme of things...NO!)

Not sure how he managed to keep his hands so clean...but his hand-paint techniques were looking stunning by the time he was done! Can't wait to see how these look after they dry for another day.
